Strengthening Community Through Service: Hillside Food Outreach Event

Founding Partner Sheryl Sanford recently volunteered—together with her daughter and more than 20 other community members—with Hillside Food Outreach, a nonprofit organization that delivers healthy, nutrient-dense groceries to individuals and families across Westchester, Putnam, and Fairfield Counties. The team of women from the Westchester Woman’s Bar Association (WWBA), Elizabeth Haub School of Law, and Pace Women in Law Society (WILS), spearheaded by Lisa Denig, participated in a coordinated food-delivery event last Friday, contributing to the organization’s ongoing efforts to support neighbors experiencing food insecurity.
Hillside Food Outreach depends on volunteers and donors to ensure that local residents receive consistent, reliable access to nutritious groceries. Their program also tailors deliveries to the dietary needs of clients managing chronic conditions such as diabetes, obesity, and cancer—providing food options that can make a meaningful difference in day-to-day health.
“Community service has always been an important part of my life, both personally and professionally,” said Sheryl. “Volunteering alongside my daughter and so many dedicated volunteers was a meaningful reminder of how small acts of kindness can support families who need it most.”
