BM&S Founding Partners Attend 2026 USLAW NETWORK Fall Conference in Boston

Black Marjieh & Sanford LLP Founding Partners Lisa Black, Dana K. Marjieh and Sheryl Sanford recently joined colleagues, clients and industry leaders from across the country in Boston for the 2026 USLAW NETWORK, Inc. Fall Managing Partner Forum and Annual Client Conference at Encore Boston Harbor.

The Fall Managing Partner Forum was held September 22–23, followed by the Annual Client Conference September 23–25, bringing together USLAW member attorneys, corporate partners and clients for several days of education, collaboration and relationship-building.

During the conference, Lisa moderated a panel examining law firm performance and the factors that continue to influence how clients select and retain outside counsel. Joined by co-panelists diana gerstberger of Arch Insurance Group Inc., Chris Martin of Great American Custom, and Mindy White of Quanta Services, Inc.

Lisa led a discussion exploring the growing ability to measure and analyze law firm performance while also examining the role that relationships, trust and personal connection continue to play in counsel-selection decisions.

“One of my biggest takeaways from moderating the discussion was that, for all the data we can now generate around law firm performance, the human connection still matters enormously,” said Lisa. “Metrics can provide valuable information, but relationships, trust and confidence in counsel continue to be driving forces behind decisions about who clients choose to work with.”

The conference also marked an important transition in USLAW leadership as Tamara Goorevitz began her term as Chair and introduced the theme “This Era Belongs to US,” emphasizing the relationships and connections that have helped shape the Network over its first 25 years and will define its next chapter. BM&S congratulates Tamara and looks forward to her leadership in the year ahead.

The firm also extends its sincere thanks to Immediate Past Chair Jennifer Tricker for her outstanding leadership and service over the past year.

Lisa will continue serving as a Director on the 2026–27 USLAW NETWORK Board of Directors, reflecting BM&S’s ongoing commitment to the Network and its mission.

BM&S was also proud to once again support a USLAW NETWORK Foundation Law School Scholarship, helping invest in the next generation of legal professionals.

As USLAW celebrates its 25th anniversary, BM&S values the opportunities the Network continues to provide to share knowledge, strengthen relationships and collaborate with trusted counsel and clients across jurisdictions.
